Beacon Roofing Supply Inc., Herndon, Va., has announced the launch of its first annual Beacon of Hope contest, through which the company will award veteran homeowners new roofs.
The contest is open to all military veterans who received honorable or general discharges. A total of five winners will be selected from throughout the U.S.
“The Beacon of Hope contest is one way we can give back to the men and women who have given so much to our country,” says Eric Swank, Beacon Roofing Supply’s COO. “It is an honor and privilege to provide a safe roof that they can be proud of and that will protect their family and their belongings.”
Through Sept. 20, the public can nominate a deserving U.S. veteran by visiting go.becn.com/beaconofhope or submitting an email to beaconofhope@becn.com. Nominations must include a photo and short bio of the veteran, including his or her military branch, years of service and why the nominee deserves a new roof.
Ten finalists will be announced in September, and the public will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite finalists. Beacon Roofing Supply will announce the winners and runners-up on Veterans Day.
