Construction, trades account for much of the hiring on Monster in 2018

Monster's 2018 The Year in Jobs Report found that construction- and trade-oriented industries accounted for much of the hiring in 2018, according to www.constructiondive.com.

Construction was part of a category that also included trades, manufacturing and storage/distribution, which held the top spot in 27 states, including much of the Midwest; Monster rebranded the Midwest from the "Rust Belt" to the "Construction, Trades, Production, and Warehousing Belt."

Although resume postings on Monster occurred 24/7, most job seekers posted resumes around 11 a.m., peaking at mid-week.

A recent Adtaxi study found 59 percent of workers will use a job board like Monster or Indeed to search for new opportunities.
